Improving the health and quality of life for New York City's communities

Division of Community & Population Health Internship

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital’s Division of Community and Population Health collaborates with physician leaders across the enterprise and community partners across New York City and Westchester to improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve with the goal to achieve health for all.

Guiding Principles:

  • Collaborate with community partners to address shared health priorities
  • Deliver the highest quality, accessible, equitable, and evidence-based care, regardless of ability to pay
  • Train the next generation of health professionals to become lifelong advocates for community health
  • Advance best practices through community engaged research
  • Commit to a culture of teamwork, respect, safety and compassion

The Division of Community and Population Health Internship Program collaborates with division staff and community partners on projects and initiatives that directly impact patients and the communities we serve. By aligning with the division’s goals and the Community Service Plan, interns will have the opportunity to make meaningful, tangible contributions to community and population health initiatives.

Internship Description

Interns will participate in huddles and strategic meetings, gaining insight into how NewYork-Presbyterian addresses social determinants of health through community education and preventive resources. Interns will also have access to centralized resources—including databases, tools, and mentorship programs—to support their projects and learning. Additionally, interns may participate in workshops, seminars, and training sessions designed to strengthen skills in research methods, data analysis, communication, and project management.
