Sir Cesare Santeramo and Sir Robert Campbell, MD
A chance meeting in 1968 would mark the beginning of Sir Cesare Santeramo and Sir Robert Campbell's, MD, beautiful 52-year partnership. In the years that followed they would work seamlessly together and forge many enduring professional and charitable associations, along with deep personal relationships. Committed to creating a lasting impact on the Hospital and the world, the couple has included a generous bequest promised through their estates to NewYork-Presbyterian.
Inspired by her experience at NewYork-Presbyterian and her life-long relationships with our doctors, nurses, and other staff, 13-year-old Saige Levitt decided to use her bat mitzvah to fundraise for the Hospital and help ensure that other children are able to receive our innovative, life-saving care.
William R. Rhodes
NewYork-Presbyterian and Life Trustee William R. Rhodes share an unwavering belief that in order to provide the best care, empathy and clinical innovation must be central to every aspect of the healing process.
Inspired by the incredible care her husband, Stan, received at the Hospital when facing an unforeseen illness, Terry Buoninfante collaborated with NewYork-Presbyterian's Planned Giving experts to set up a gift in his honor.
"So why do I run, you ask? I run to say thank you to a man who drove, flew, walked, and ran to every event in my life. I run to say thank you to the doctors who gave me extra time with him. I run to let my family know that I will go to any lengths for them, as Poppy did for us. I run so other families can spend more time with their loved ones. And I run because I would give anything to have one more minute.”
Charles and Irene Hamm
Charles and Irene Hamm’s relationship with NewYork-Presbyterian stretches almost as long as their 62-year marriage.
Inspired by the dedication and compassion they experienced via lifelong connections with their NewYork-Presbyterian physicians, Charles and Irene recently made a gift of $1 million in honor of three NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center physicians who saved Charles’ life: Drs. Stephanie Mick, David Blumenthal, and Richard Cohen.
Grateful for the compassionate, expert care John received at the Hospital during his last, precious years, Kathleen turned to NewYork-Presbyterian’s Planned Giving experts to establish a legacy gift. “I have always seen the Hospital as a joyful place,” she says. “This gift is a way to continue the spirit of love we felt here.”
