Since 2021, NewYork-Presbyterian supports New York City’s End the HIV Epidemic (ETE) initiative by offering compassionate and accessible sexual health care services to all New Yorkers in need. By focusing on individuals who are at risk for HIV, unaware of their HIV status, or living with HIV but have fallen out of care, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital aims to engage and connect people to care. One in six people living with HIV in NYC and surrounding communities visits an NYP facility during a calendar year.

To eliminate barriers to sexual health care, NewYork-Presbyterian delivers culturally competent, patient-centered services to everyone we engage within the community and our hospital system. HIV and STI rates in NYC remain disproportionately high among LGBTQIA+ individuals, people experiencing homelessness, and communities of color. The need to provide spaces where all people feel welcome to receive care continues to be of critical importance.
