Clinical Pastoral Education

Thank you for your interest in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. NYP chaplains play an essential role in providing for the religious, spiritual and existential needs of a widely diverse population of patients and families from all religions and cultures. We serve patients who come from around the corner and around the world. Our pastoral care is multi-faith and dynamic, and our educators are seasoned ACPE-certified professionals. NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center

The Rev. Ansia Chahoy is a member of the Clinical Pastoral Education team as a Certified Educator Candidate. Chaplain Chahoy has covered Critical Care (MICU, NICU, CCU, CTICU), Cardiology/Cardiothoracic and Palliative Care units as a healthcare chaplain. Their clinical specialization is in mental health and trauma-informed chaplaincy, having served as a University, Veterans Affairs and Corrections Chaplain. Chaplain Chahoy is a graduate of Wellesley College (BA) and Emory University (M.Div), and is a doctoral candidate at Vanderbilt University.

NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital

The Rev. CB Stewart serves as the Coordinator of Clinical Pastoral Educator at NYP/Brooklyn Methodist. CB began at NYP as a Chaplain Resident in 2016. In their work as a chaplain, they have focused particularly on trauma and burn care. In their current role, they provide education and supervision to Chaplain Residents as a Certified Educator Candidate of ACPE: The Standard for Spiritual Care & Education. They hold a M.Div. from Union Theological Seminary and are board certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains.

Lifeng (Jampa) Wang is the Coordinator of Pastoral Care & Education at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital. A Chinese immigrant and a Tibetan Buddhist, he received a bachelor's degree in physics in China and a master's degree in Buddhist studies from Maitripa College in Oregon. He is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains and a Certified Educator Candidate with ACPE: The Standard for Spiritual Care & Education.
