Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care & Education Department

The Pastoral Care & Education Department consists of professionally trained chaplains, residents and interns who are competent to understand and interpret the religious, spiritual and existential experiences of patients and their families.

We provide for religious, spiritual and existential needs in the following ways:

  • Spiritual care
  • Emotional support
  • Assisting you with your religious, cultural or ritual needs
  • Support if you need to make difficult decisions for yourself or a loved one
  • Faith-specific religious guidance
  • Prayer support
  • Sacramental support
  • Support groups
  • Worship services
  • Meditation

Our chaplains visit hospital units regularly to meet with patients and their loved ones. We also offer regular support groups for patients and families throughout the hospital. There are different types of worship services offered throughout the week; patients and their loved ones are always welcome to attend these services.

The department offers Clinical Pastoral Education programs of all levels, seminary field education, and other training programs in pastoral care and healthcare ministry for clergy, seminarians and selected laypersons.
