Blood Cancers
Why Choose Us
Comprehensive care with the latest treatments

Cancers of the blood and blood-forming organs are complex diseases and are best treated by doctors with specialized training to increase the chance of a successful outcome. The Weill Cornell Medicine Meyer Cancer Center at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is home to highly skilled blood cancer specialists who care for patients with hematologic cancers of all types and stages. They customize your care to the features of your disease, ensuring you get the most effective treatment available.
We treat all types of blood cancers and disorders, including acute and chronic myeloid leukemia, acute lymphocytic leukemia, chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma, multiple myeloma, Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphomas, Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia, myeloproliferative disorders, and bone marrow disorders such as myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). The Meyer Cancer Center is well integrated into the Brooklyn community—we take pride in treating patients from a wide variety of cultures and all walks of life. Our cancer care team members get to know our patients and their families and tailor treatment to their needs and preferences. You’ll find a level of warm, personal care here that is hard to match.
As an academic medical center, we participate in clinical trials for blood cancers of all types. These studies offer you access to investigational therapies that show promise for fighting your cancer. Our doctors also collaborate with laboratory scientists who are scrutinizing the intricacies of blood cancer development and applying their findings to create better therapies. Your doctor will let you know if you may be able to receive a promising new therapy through a clinical trial.
