Why Choose Us

One-stop care for breast cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment

A breast cancer diagnosis can be life changing. At the Weill Cornell Medicine Meyer Cancer Center at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, you and your loved ones never have to go through it alone.

Our Breast Center offers patients the full range of screening, diagnosis, and treatment options for breast cancer — including surgery, chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, or a combination of those approaches, depending on the type, stage, and biology of your cancer. Just as important, we treat you with compassion and respect while providing you with all the support and guidance you need to make choices and continue living your life despite breast cancer.

Our hospital is also a site for the NRG Oncology Group, which brings together the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project, the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group, and the Gynecologic Oncology Group — each recognized internationally as a leader in cancer research. Through our relationship with Weill Cornell Medicine, we are a member of the academically prestigious Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology. You may have the opportunity to participate in a clinical trial of a promising new breast cancer therapy.

Committed to our community

Our breast cancer team is dedicated to educating the members of our community about breast cancer and providing access to the resources needed to ensure their best breast health.

  • Partnering with churches - Through a program called "Sister, Give Me Your Hand," which is run by the American Cancer Society and supported by Pfizer, our nurse navigators share breast cancer information with local churches, which in turn share it with their members. The goal is to raise awareness of what women can do to reduce their risk of breast cancer and find it early, should it develop.
  • Educational events - Our nurse navigators are planning informative presentations for patients during and after treatment on topics such as lymphedema management.
