Involvement in military training and combat can have a dramatic effect on the mental health and well-being of soldiers and those closest to them. Our top priority is providing the most innovative and efficient clinical care to veterans and service members. The NewYork-Presbyterian Military Family Wellness Center is on the cutting edge of clinical psychiatric care and research medicine. Mental health professionals and neuroscientists at both Columbia University Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medicine collaborate to improve our understanding of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental health issues associated with military service. By looking at the impact military service has on behavior and the neuro-psychical state, we can investigate new ways to enhance existing treatments and create approaches that are more efficient.
