The NewYork-Presbyterian Family Planning Practice

NewYork-Presbyterian's Family Planning Practice includes the Family Planning Center for adult and adolescent women through age 45 and the Young Men's Clinic for males ages 14-35. The Family Planning Center has been providing high-quality reproductive and sexual health services for women and adolescents since 1977. At the Family Planning Center, we provide a full range of services for family planning and conception, but we do not offer pregnancy termination services. Pregnancy termination services are available at a number of other NewYork-Presbyterian facilities. Our center is known throughout our community as a point of entry for low-income women and young people to receive comprehensive reproductive health services at no cost or low cost.

Our Approach to Care

Every woman has her own unique health care needs, values, and reproductive goals, which may evolve through life.  At NewYork-Presbyterian, we provide family planning care and contraception care that is compassionate and respectful of patients' wishes. Our experienced and compassionate clinicians strive to form a strong bond with each patient to understand her medical history, potential risks for disease, lifestyle habits, and life goals, including her desire to have children.  In addition to using contraception to prevent pregnancy, our clinicians can assess whether contraception can treat menstrual symptoms such as heavy menstrual bleeding or severe menstrual pain.  In every phase of life, we offer guidance, knowledge, and support that enable our patients to make informed choices aligned with their health needs, preferences, and reproductive goals.
