Education & Professional Training
The Victim Intervention Program is committed to building awareness and educating the public on the issues of family and intimate partner violence, sexual violence, childhood sexual abuse, and trauma.
In addition to training volunteer advocates, our staff routinely conducts presentations and workshops at colleges, mental health agencies, and community-based organizations.
Responding to the needs of survivors of intimate partner and sexual violence presents with many challenges; survivors often need specialized clinical treatment, advocacy, financial support, information, and referrals to safely navigate the justice system.
We are available to train professionals and the community on:
- The dynamics of interpersonal violence
- Effective ways to screen
- Identifying and interviewing victims in need of services
