Managing Disturbances

The Security Department responds to all reported patient, visitor, and staff disturbances to ensure safety and security.

Disturbances include:

• Verbal altercations
• Threats of violence
• Physical altercations
• Threats of use of a weapon
• The use of a weapon on hospital property

The key to maintaining a safe and secure environment is early recognition and timely response to escalating behavior.

If you witness, or are involved in a situation where an individual becomes verbally abusive or threatens you or another person, contact the Security Department immediately. Security will respond and assist in resolving the situation.
