Partial Day Hospitalization for Teens

The Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell is an intensive transitional psychiatric program for teens who are “stepping down” from an inpatient unit to outpatient care. This program is for adolescents, aged 13 to 18, with acute psychiatric illnesses who can live in the community and can be treated outside the inpatient setting. Young adults up to age 20 who are currently enrolled in high school or a Department of Education program may also attend.

Our Services

The partial day hospitalization program provides treatment for a variety of psychiatric conditions and combines many treatment modalities, including:

  • Individual therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Group therapy
  • Behavioral interventions
  • Occupational therapy
  • Medication management

Educational Services

Education, Inc. provides fully accredited school programs on hospital grounds. Tutoring is arranged for teens who are unable to attend the Education, Inc. program.

At NewYork-Presbyterian, we work with patients and their family to transition back home. We work collaboratively to create a personalized aftercare plan that defines strategies for dealing with challenges.
