Miriam joined NYP in 2023 as the Supervisor of Outpatient Nutrition and Diabetes Education at the Weill Cornell campus. She previously worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings as a Clinical Nutrition Manager at NYU Langone Health Orthopedic Hospital, Senior Outpatient Clinical Nutritionist at NYC Health & Hospital/Bellevue and at ArchCare at Terence Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center, New York, NY. Miriam completed a BS and her dietetic internship at City University of New York Hunter College in 2009. She has a MS in Nutrition from Long Island University C.W. Post and PhD in Nutrition and Dietetics from New York University. She is passionate about leveraging clinical nutrition, research and technology to address weight management, diabetes education and health disparities.

Meredith joined NYP in 1994 after working Terence Cardinal Cooke Healthcare Center. Meredith completed her Dietetic Internship at New York Hospital in 1992. She has an MA in Applied Physiology from Columbia University Teachers College and BS in Nutrition from Penn State University. Meredith is a Certified Diabetes Education Specialist at the Ambulatory Care Network Center for Special Studies. She has extensive experience and is a specialist in the care of patients living with HIV/AIDS including but not limited to diabetes, heart disease, chronic renal disease, obesity/weight management and irritable bowel syndrome. With authenticity and the ability to connect with people, Meredith empowers patients to work towards healthy and sustainable lifestyle changes.

Expertise: ketogenic diet, general pediatrics, pediatric weight management

Mary joined NYP in 2012 after working at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Metro Nashville General Hospital. Mary completed her internship in 1986. She has an MPH in nutrition from the University of Tennessee and BS in nutrition from the University of Alabama. She co-authored The Ketogenic Diet-Induced Weight Gain with Decreased Energy Consumption (ICAN February 2013) and Enteral and Parenteral Applications of Ketogenic Diet Therapy (ICAN October 2011). She is a co-investigator in A Pilot Study of Ketogenic Diet and Metformin in Glioblastoma: Feasibility and Metabolic Imaging. Mary has extensive experience and is nationally recognized for using the ketogenic diet to treat intractable epilepsy and other disorders. She works in the NYP Pediatric Epilepsy and Ambulatory Care Network general pediatric, Health for Life and NYP Outpatient Nutrition practices. Her primary goal is to work closely with patients and families to develop effective dietary therapies customized to the needs of each patient.

Nancy joined NYP in 2008 as the Ambulatory Care Network Clinical Nutritionist at the Charles Rangel Practice after working at Maimonides Medical Center and the UNITE Health Center. Nancy transferred to the Weill Cornell campus in 2017 where she works in Ambulatory Care Women’s Health and NYP Outpatient Practices. Nancy completed her Dietetic Internship at Hunter College in New York in 2003. She has an MPH and BS in Dietetics also from Hunter College. Nancy is a Certified Diabetes Education Specialist and Certified Lactation Counselor. She counsels patients with diabetes, through pregnancy (including gestational diabetes), weight management and cardiovascular diseases among other nutrition related problems and for health and well-being.

Alexa re-joined NYP in 2022 after working as a dietitian in a private practice following five years as an inpatient dietitian at NYP/Weill Cornell. Alexa completed her Dietetic Internship at NewYork-Presbyterian in 2016. She has a BS in Nutrition and Dietetics from Syracuse University and MS in Nutrition from Stony Brook University. Alexa works at the Weill Cornell Internal Medicine Associates (WCIMA) and Center on Aging practices in the Ambulatory Care Network. She provides individualized nutrition counseling for adults including but not limited to weight management, diabetes, cardiovascular and other chronic diseases to help patients achieve their health-related goals and well-being. Alexa is passionate about collaborating with patients to develop sustainable, enjoyable eating patterns and fostering a positive relationship with food.

Emily joined NYP in 2017 after working at Lenox Hill and SUNY Downstate Hospitals and the Mt Sinai Beth Israel Outpatient Cancer Center. Emily completed her dietetic internship at Long Island Jewish (Northwell) in 2015. She has a BS in Nutrition from Indiana University. She is a Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition. Emily is an advocate and proponent of nutrition (and exercise) as being integral to caring for patients through the prevention, treatment and survivorship continuum of cancer care.

Cecilia joined NYP in 2022, coming from Kaiser Permanente in Washington DC as a pediatric specialty dietitian. She previously worked at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, CA as an outpatient dietitian, for OptionCare, a Walgreens Infusion Company in Miramar, FL as a nutrition support specialist and for Miami Children’s Hospital, Miami FL as a clinical dietitian. Cecilia completed her dietetic internship at NewYork Presbyterian in 2007. She has a BS in food science and human nutrition from the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL and is a Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition (CSP) and Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC). Cecilia works at Phyllis and David Komansky Center for Children's Health and provides comprehensive individualized nutrition care and counseling for infant and pediatric patients/families with gastrointestinal disorders. Her patients’ needs include, but are not limited to, food allergies and intolerances, eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis, celiac disease, gastrostomy dependence, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and other functional bowel disorders.

Jessica joined NYP Millstein Hospital Columbia University as an inpatient nutritionist Columbia in 2018 after working at University Hospital NJ and transferred to her current position in 2019. Jessica completed her dietetic internship on 2016 at Rutgers University. She has a BS from University of Wisconsin, WI. She is a Certified Nutrition Support Clinician. She works at the Center for Advanced Digestive Care and provides individualized nutrition care for patients with digestive diseases including functional GI disorders, pancreatic diseases and post-surgical nutrition therapy. Jessica is an advocate for improving patient’s quality of life throughout positive, sustainable lifestyle changes.

Ayelet joined NYP in 2022 after working at the Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital Ambulatory Care Center at NYU as well as Kings County Hospital as an inpatient pediatric dietitian. Ayelet completed her Dietetic Internship in 2012 and MS in Nutrition, both at New York University. She has a BS in Nutrition from NYP and is a Certified Lactation Counselor. Stacy joined NYP in 2019 after working as an inpatient dietitian at North Shore University Hospital and NYU Langone Hospital, Long Island. Stacy completed her dietetic internship at Northwell Health in 2017. She has a MS in Nutrition from Hunter College and BS in Business Administration from University at Buffalo. Stacy is a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). She works for the Center for Advanced Digestive Care division of GI Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery where she counsels pre- and post-operative bariatric surgery patients on nutritionally sound ways to achieve long lasting weight loss. She also serves as a moderator for the Cornell GI Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery Program’s bi-monthly support group. Through her 1:1 nutrition counseling and support group sessions, Stacy advocates for the adoption of healthful nutrition and lifestyle choices to help reduce the incidence of obesity and other chronic diseases.

Francesca joined NYP in 2018 after working as an oncology dietitian at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida. Francesca completed her dietetic internship and BS in Dietetics and Nutrition from Keiser University, in Port Saint Lucie, FL. She is a Board Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition. Francesca works at the Sandra and Edward Meyer Cancer Center and is passionate about providing evidence-based individualized nutrition care to improve health outcomes for patients throughout the cancer care continuum. She is committed to promoting health equity for underprivileged populations.

Stephanie joined NYP as an inpatient oncology dietitian in 2017 after working as a Clinical Aide at NYU's Student Health Center and Administrator at NYU's Stern School of Business. She transferred to her current position in 2019. She completed her dietetic internship at NewYork-Presbyterian in 2016 and has a MS in Clinical Nutrition and BS in Biology from New York University. She is a Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition. Stephanie combines her passions for food and science providing individualized nutrition counseling for patients during their medical, radiation and/or surgical cancer treatment to help them get their best nutrition and maximize their quality of life.

Alexandra joined NYP in 2014 after working at New York University Medical Center taking care of patients with liver, kidney, gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary disorders. Alexandra completed her dietetic internship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston in 2010 and BS in Nutrition at New York University.Alexandra works at the Center for Advanced Digestive Care and provides comprehensive individualized nutrition care for patients with digestive diseases using an integrative approach in close collaboration with GI doctors. She is passionate about helping patients with complex functional digestive disorders improve their health and wellbeing.

Anita joined NYP in 2023 after working as an inpatient dietitian at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn, both in New York City. She completed a MS in nutrition and dietetic internship at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) in 2017. Anita has a BA in applied psychology also from UIC. She works at the Center for Advanced Digestive Care and provides individualized nutrition care for patients with digestive diseases. Anita is passionate about providing patients, with complex functional digestive disorders, the tools and information to improve their health and quality of life.

Melissa has an MS in Nutrition from Montclair State University and a BA in Communication from Monmouth University, both in New Jersey. Melissa works at the Center for Advanced Digestive Care providing care for patients with digestive diseases by developing personalized nutrition interventions. She is committed to helping patients to improve their digestive health in sustainable ways that fit their lifestyles

Katrina joined NYP in 2023 after working for the New York Nutrition Group and Bethany Medical Clinic providing outpatient clinical nutrition services. She also worked at Heritage Health and Housing in New York as the program coordinator, providing education and nutrition services to individuals with HIV/AIDS. Katrina completed her dietetic internship and MS in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology at Teachers College, Columbia University in 2016. She has BS in Nutritional Sciences from Boston University. Katrina works in the NYP Outpatient Nutrition Practice where she provides individualized medical nutrition therapy, and empowers her patients to make positive, nourishing food choices that will improve their health, both physically and mentally.

Jaimie joined NYP in 2001 after working at The Rockefeller University Hospital. Jaimie completed her Dietetic Internship at NewYork Presbyterian in 2001 and has a BS in Clinical Nutrition from New York University. She works at the Ambulatory Care Network Chelsea Center for Special Studies with a dynamic interdisciplinary team caring for patients with HIV/AIDS and in prevention and wellness with the LGBTQAI community. Jaimie's experience, knowledge and enthusiasm are pillars for collaboration with her clients in a highly personalized approach to care. She believes healthy eating is essential for mental and physical well-being.

Billing and Scheduling Liaison

Laurel joined NYP in 2014 as a Registrar and was promoted to a Billing and Scheduling Liaison in 2019. Laurel previously worked as a cashier at Key Food Supermarkets and customer service representative for a summer youth employment program. She graduated from Mercy College on honor roll with a BA in Psychology. Laurel coordinates all aspects of patient access to nutrition and diabetes self-management education services including supporting patients connect to their MyChart portal, schedule appointments and verifying their insurance coverage. She is passionate about providing excellent customer service and is bilingual in English and Spanish.
