About Oral Cancer

The Oral Cancer Foundation estimates that oral cancer affects nearly 37,000 Americans each year. Oral cancer primarily affects those over the age of 40 but recently, the disease is rising among young people. Twenty-five percent of oral cancer patients have no known risk factors, including tobacco and/or excessive alcohol use. There is a link between oral cancer and HPV (human papillomavirus). But there is some good news. If detected early, oral cancer can be cured.
