Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Center
Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune disease of the central nervous system (brain and the spinal cord) that can cause a multitude of symptoms. It requires proper diagnosis and prompt treatment to minimize disease progression and optimize your ability to stay well.
Patients living with Multiple Sclerosis require comprehensive care and early and consistent use of disease-modifying therapies. The NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist MS Center team, headed by a neurologist trained in the most advanced treatments, offers comprehensive care, beginning with a full diagnostic work up. Treatment is tailored to each individual’s needs, managing symptoms and other health issues. We focus on preventing the progression of the disease, using various strategies and complementary therapies in conjunction with well-studied medications. Our goal is to optimize ability and wellness.
Our network consists of board certified physicians, physician assistants, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, neuropsychologists, urologists, urogynecologists, ophthalmologists and social workers.

Evaluates and treats problems with speech, cognition and/or swallowing. Individualized therapy plans enhances ease and clarity of communication as well as promoting safe swallowing and overall health.
