Letter from the Chairs

Welcome to the NewYork-Presbyterian Departments of Women’s Health, where our experienced and compassionate physicians provide comprehensive care to women for all aspects of health at all stages of life. Our clinical, scientific, and educational excellence is made possible by NewYork-Presbyterian’s affiliation with our two renowned medical schools — Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and Weill Cornell Medicine.

We are passionate about providing superior obstetrics and gynecologic care at every level. Our NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital and NewYork-Presbyterian Alexandra Cohen Hospital for Women and Newborns provide world-class care to moms of all backgrounds. Our high-risk capabilities are among the best in the nation with the development of specialized programs for high-risk mothers, such as The Mothers Center at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. In addition, our teams offer gynecologic care ranging from preventive care to treatment of disorders of the reproductive system.

Our holistic approach to women’s health care extends well beyond obstetrics and gynecology to meet women’s unique needs for heart health, cancer care, mental health, neurological care, and bone health. Our top-rated cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, medical oncologists, psychiatrists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, endocrinologists, and other specialty physicians provide expert and compassionate care that enable women to live their best lives.

In addition to providing the highest quality care, our team is committed to ensuring that the diverse populations we serve have equally optimal experiences and outcomes. To that end, our compassionate and dedicated physicians participate in statewide and national initiatives to eliminate racial and ethnic disparities in women’s health, education, research, and clinical care, such as the National Partnership for Maternal Safety and New York State’s Safe Motherhood Initiative.

From routine care to addressing the most complex women’s health issues, our goal is to partner with you in shared decision-making and empower you with knowledge, support, and the most effective treatments for longevity and quality of life.

We invite you to learn more about our services on these pages.

Sincerely,
