Symptoms of Cerebral Aneurysms
Diagnosing and Treating Cerebral Aneurysms Early and Effectively
Many brain aneurysms won't cause signs or symptoms before they hemorrhage. Sometimes, however, an aneurysm may press on surrounding brain structures, causing:
- Headache that is sudden and severe
- Numbness
- Pain behind the eye
- Nausea/vomiting
- Vision change
- Weakness
NewYork-Presbyterian doctors can determine if symptoms and warning signs are related to a cerebral aneurysm, often by using imaging tests such as computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans. Brain angiograms may also be used for treatment planning.
