Advanced care for leukemia, lymphoma, and other hematologic malignancies

Advanced Care with Research-Based Treatments

Cancers of the blood and blood-forming organs are complex diseases and are best treated by doctors with specialized training to increase the chance of a successful outcome. At NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester (formerly Lawrence Hospital), our blood cancer specialists are very experienced in caring for patients with hematologic cancers of all types and stages. We customize your care to your disease's genetic and biological features, ensuring that you get the most effective treatment. We also offer support services to help you manage the side effects of cancer and its treatment.

Our Approach to Care

Your care team includes medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, hematopathologists, radiologists, pain management specialists, oncology nurses, psychosocial support specialists, and other professionals with extraordinary experience and compassion in caring for people with blood cancers. A patient navigator coordinates your visits and procedures and serves as your point of contact to address any questions.

We are part of Columbia University's cancer care team and participate in regular tumor boards, discussing each case and combining our expertise to assemble each patient's most effective treatment plan. We ensure that you and your caregivers understand your options, so you can make an informed decision about what's best for you. Our ultimate goal is to find a cure for your disease.

We understand that a diagnosis of cancer can be challenging for you as well as your loved ones. You'll have access to psychosocial, nutritional, and other support services for people with blood cancers. Your team ensures that your quality of life is the best it can be from the moment of diagnosis and throughout your treatment.

Why Choose Us

Because our doctors are part of a major academic medical center — the National Cancer Institute-designated Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center of Columbia University — we can connect our patients with clinical trials assessing promising investigational therapies for blood cancers.

After your therapy is completed, our Cancer Survivorship Clinical Program helps coordinate your follow-up care and communication with your other healthcare providers as you return to life after treatment. Make an appointment for a consultation.
