Cancer Clinical Trials at NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester
In 2019, NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester expanded cancer treatment options for patients in our community by developing our clinical research program. We brought National Cancer Institute-sponsored clinical trials from Columbia University’s Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center to patients treated in Bronxville. After a discussion with their physician, patients who qualify can enroll in one of our many clinical trials at NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester or consider a fast-track referral to Columbia for additional trial options.
Importance of Clinical Research
Clinical trials are an essential part of cancer research and innovation. At NewYork-Presbyterian, our patients can participate in many clinical research studies. These trials can offer patients more treatment options while advancing the science of cancer medicine.
Clinical trials are medical research studies involving volunteer participants who compare new treatments to existing treatments. This comparison allows researchers and physicians to learn if new treatments are better than what is currently being given to patients.
