Care Unit

Services

In addition to labor and delivery care and support, NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital offers the following maternity services.

Superior prenatal care

To give your baby the best start possible, we offer comprehensive prenatal care, including:

  • Fetal testing and monitoring, with prenatal ultrasound available onsite at the Maternal & Newborn Care Unit
  • Childbirth education classes
  • Breastfeeding preparation classes
  • Prenatal care provided by NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group OB-GYNs

Advanced expertise for high-risk pregnancies

Our physicians have advanced training and extensive experience in the care of women with high-risk pregnancies and those having complex deliveries. If your baby has a congenital abnormality, we can connect you with perinatal specialists in the Center for Prenatal Pediatrics at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital.

Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)

NICU is located on the unit for premature infants (born 30 weeks or later into the pregnancy) and those with specialized needs. It is staffed by neonatal nurses and neonatologists (newborn care physicians) and is designed for babies requiring intensive observation and medical care. If your baby is born earlier than 30 weeks, we will transfer him or her to another hospital for more advanced newborn care. If you come to us ready to give birth before 30 weeks and you are able to be stabilized, we will transfer you to a facility that specializes in this level of neonatal care.
