About

A team approach

We believe that an integrated team approach is the most effective way to provide the best care to our patients. Many of our patients receive obstetric care from the OB-GYNs in NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley offices in Cortlandt Manor and Cold Spring.

  • An integrated approach. All patients may benefit from the expertise of ColumbiaDoctors OB-GYNs who work in partnership with teams that include Magnet®-recognized nurses and nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, and board-certified neonatologists. Together they provide clinical expertise and compassionate care for mothers and babies.
  • Advanced maternity care. Our physicians have extensive experience in the care of women with high-risk pregnancies and those having complex deliveries. Women and infants needing more advanced care have access to the resources of NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, should the need arise.
  • Midwifery services. Women with low-risk pregnancies who are seeking a low-intervention birth experience may receive care from our midwives.

We Are a baby-friendly hospital

Our hospital has been designated "Baby-Friendly" by Baby-Friendly USA and the World Health Organization for our superior care, particularly our breastfeeding support and education efforts. We have achieved a very high rate of breastfeeding among women who choose to do so, guided by our maternity nurses (who have also received training in lactation support) and lactation consultants. We also received the Award of Excellence from the New York State Department of Health for our breastfeeding support programs and are accredited by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners.
