NewYork-Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital Orthopedics is undergoing an exciting transformation, ushered in by nationally renowned sports medicine and orthopedic physicians from Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC). Doctors will be seeing patients in Bronxville and Tarrytown, with surgical procedures performed at NewYork-Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital.

Dr. Anthony Hollenberg, a leading physician-scientist specializing in endocrinology, has been appointed chairman of the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Department of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and physician-in-chief at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, effective February 1.

Since its first U.S. use in 2002, NewYork-Presbyterian has helped pave the way for the advancement of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) for cardiac patients who are in need of a new heart valve, but are not candidates for open-heart surgery.

NewYork-Presbyterian held a dedication ceremony today to celebrate the renaming of The Spine Hospital to the Daniel and Jane Och Spine Hospital at NewYork-Presbyterian, in recognition of the visionary $25 million gift by longtime supporters Daniel and Jane Och.

NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital has been named an accredited center of care by the Children’s Cardiomyopathy Foundation (CCF), a national nonprofit committed to improving the health outcomes and quality of life for children with cardiomyopathy.

Acupuncture decreased joint symptoms in women with early-stage breast cancer treated with aromatase inhibitors, according to a randomized, multicenter clinical trial led by researchers at NewYork-Presbyterian and Columbia University Irving Medical Center. The findings were presented at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium, held Dec. 5 – 9.
