This group meets weekly on Tuesdays from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Breastfeeding Support Group focuses on providing encouragement and information for mothers and their newborns, from birth to three months old. New York Methodist Hospital''s Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine is co-sponsoring a seven-week "Freedom From Smoking" workshop with the American Lung Association of New York. The fee for the workshop is $75, which will cover the cost of the course materials. The seven-week "Freedom From Smoking" workshop series will begin on Thursday, October 6, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The classes will take place on the Hospital campus in Wesley House, Room 7B, 501 Sixth Street, Park Slope Brooklyn. Obesity is an epidemic that impacts over nine million Americans. More and more people who are affected by obesity are seeking information about surgical weight reduction. New York Methodist Hospital offers a free Surgical Weight Reduction Information Seminar and Support Group. This month the group will meet on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and on Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. During the first 30 minutes of the seminar, a surgeon will conduct an information session for individuals who are interested in learning about the surgery. A 90-minute support group meeting, open to pre- and post-operative patients will follow the information session.
