NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital has been recognized by Glassdoor as one of the Best Places to Work in 2019. NewYork-Presbyterian was the top-ranked hospital in New York and ranked third nationally among hospital systems that made the list.
Winners of the Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Award, now in its 11th year, are determined solely on the input of employees, who elect to provide feedback on their jobs, work environments, and employers via Glassdoor.
“Our exceptional employees work hard every day to provide world-class care to our patients,” said Dr. Steven J. Corwin, president and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian. “We are committed to fostering a culture of respect for our employees and our patients, and we are honored to be recognized for these efforts.”
“Our employees are truly the key to our success as an integrated academic hospital system,” said Dr. Laura Forese, executive vice president and chief operating officer of NewYork-Presbyterian. “We are dedicated to creating an environment where every employee feels supported and valued for their contributions to patient care.”
On Glassdoor, current and former employees of organizations worldwide can share insights and opinions about their work environments by sharing a company review, designed to capture an authentic look at what it’s like to work at particular jobs and companies. Employees are asked to rate their satisfaction with their employer overall and key workplace factors, such as career opportunities, compensation, benefits, work/life balance, senior management, culture and values.
“We work hard to recruit the best talent and retain outstanding employees,” said Shaun Smith, senior vice president and chief human resources officer of NewYork-Presbyterian. “We want every employee to have the opportunity to thrive, to have pathways to advance and to work in a place where they feel like they belong”
The Best Places to Work are determined using employer reviews shared by U.S.-based employees between October 2017 and October 2018. To be considered for the large category, an employer must have at least 1,000 employees and have received at least 75 ratings across eight workplace attributes from U.S.-based employees during the year-long eligibility period. The final list is compiled based on Glassdoor’s algorithm and takes into account quantity, quality and consistency of reviews.
