New York Methodist Hospital Welcomes its First Baby of 2013

While confetti filled the air in Times Square, Jungmin Oh was a little too busy to notice. She was several hours into labor with her first child, and had a different countdown in mind. At 12:54 a.m., Jungmin and her husband, Benjamin Brown, welcomed their baby, Gena, in New York Methodist Hospital's birthing center.

"We didn't care whether she was the first baby of the year, or anything like that," said Benjamin, tired but happy the following morning. "We just were hoping that she would be happy and healthy. We can't think of a better way to start 2013."

Gena weighs seven pounds, two ounces, and is 19.5 inches in length. Her parents reside in Park Slope. Her mother, Jungmin, is originally from the "Gangnam" district of Seoul - the same neighborhood parodied in Psy's omnipresent mega-hit, "Gangnam Style." The Hospital is yet to confirm what sort of "style" Gena has, but "adorable" seems to be a good option!
