Help for Heel Pain

Whether it’s Plantar Fasciitis, heel spurs or Achilles Tendinitis, that is causing a pain in your heel, Dr. Katherine Ma can answer your questions about what to do. The heel bone is the largest of the 26 bones in the human foot, which also has 33 joints and a network of more than 100 tendons, muscles, and ligaments so a lot can go wrong. Dr. Ma, an orthopedic foot surgeon, will discuss the heel and what you can do to deal with your heel pain. This free program is being held June 9 at 6 p.m. Click here to register.

Acid Reflux Alternatives

Surgeon Dr. Eric Sommer will discuss the latest developments in the treatment of acid reflux disease. Many patients with chronic acid reflux who have been taking medications for years are looking for alternative treatments. Dr. Sommer will discuss minimally invasive surgery to permanently treat acid reflux disease. Many chronic sufferers may find that medication no longer works as effectively or results in side effects such as diarrhea or predisposition to osteoporosis. This free program is being held on June 12 at 6 p.m. Click here to register.

Is Weight Loss Surgery Right for You?

No doubt you’ve heard a lot about bariatric surgery, but is it right for you? If you’re chronically overweight and have conditions such as diabetes that are related to your weight, then chances are you may be a candidate for weight loss surgery. Dr. Eric Sommer presents this monthly educational meeting for pre-op patients and those interested in bariatric surgery; family and friends are welcome! Hear from actual patients who have undergone surgery with the NY Bariatric Group.
