Dr. Steven J. Corwin, president and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian, has received the Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Award recognizing him as a top CEO in the nation.

Dr. Corwin received an approval rating of 94 percent from employees and ranked 37 out of 100 on the list of Top CEOs for large companies in the United States.

Glassdoor’s rankings are based on the anonymous and voluntary reviews of NewYork-Presbyterian employees shared on Glassdoor throughout the past year.

“I am honored to be recognized by our exceptional employees, whose commitment to providing the very best care to patients and their families inspires me every day,” said Dr. Corwin. “I am proud to work alongside such a talented, dedicated group of people. Together, we are building a culture of respect where each individual feels valued for their contribution to patients’ care.”

Glassdoor, one of the world’s largest job and recruiting sites, released its annual list this week recognizing the top CEOs in countries throughout North America, including the U.S., and parts of Europe. When employees submit reviews about their company, they are asked to rate various factors about their employment experience, including their overall satisfaction and their sentiment around their CEO’s job performance.

Among the 770,000 companies reviewed on Glassdoor, the average CEO approval rating is 69 percent.

Under Dr. Corwin’s leadership, NewYork-Presbyterian has nearly doubled in size and now comprises more than 46,000 employees dedicated to providing world-class care to nearly 4 million patients across 10 hospitals and in clinics and medical groups across the Greater New York area. He implemented a paid parental leave policy that is the most comprehensive of its kind among New York City hospitals and healthcare systems, offering six weeks of paid parental leave for birth, adoption or surrogacy, and assistance with the cost of adoption. He has launched a number of groundbreaking initiatives, including NYP OnDemand, a digital suite of telehealth services that increases access to NewYork-Presbyterian’s world-class care, and a fleet of Mobile Stroke Treatment Units equipped to provide immediate specialized care to patients who may be having a stroke.  NewYork-Presbyterian is the first health system in the country to operate three of these advanced units. He also has overseen the development of the NewYork-Presbyterian David H. Koch Center, an ambulatory care facility that offers a patient experience second to none. NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is ranked #1 in the New York metropolitan area by U.S. News and World Report and repeatedly named to the Honor Roll of “America’s Best Hospitals.”

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital was also recently honored with the Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Award recognizing the Best Places to Work in 2018.
