General Surgery

General surgeons perform a wide variety of operations and are increasingly moving toward minimally invasive procedures whenever possible. These approaches are associated with smaller incisions, less discomfort after surgery, and a quicker recover.

At NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley, our surgeons are well-versed in the full range of techniques — including robotic surgery and other minimally invasive procedures performed in the hospital's Minimally Invasive Surgery Center. Our state-of-the-art all-digital Surgery Center features two operating rooms and an expansive, newly renovated recovery room (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) that is flooded with natural light. Our surgeons perform a variety of procedures, including:

  • Single-incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS) to remove the gallbladder.
  • Weight loss (bariatric) surgery through a center that has been accredited as a Comprehensive Center under the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program, ensuring that patients receive care through a comprehensive program that supports them before, during, and after the operation.
  • Specialty surgeries are performed by breast, orthopedic, plastic, urologic, cardiothoracic, vascular, ENT, and gynecologic surgeons and neurosurgeons.
