Cameo Kids Bring Joy to Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital

by Amy Koplin, NYP Development Communications

It’s difficult for a child to be in the hospital at any time. But over the holidays, staying away from home can be especially tough.

Fortunately, towards the end of 2023, some special guest stars stepped in to make things a little brighter. Thanks to Cameo and Cameo Kids, the platforms that allow fans to customize messages from their favorite celebrities (animated or otherwise), children at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital received uplifting greetings.

“Cameo was eager to participate—and incredibly generous,” said longtime NYP partner and supporter Toby Milstein Schulman, who arranged for the donation of the Cameo codes to be given to dozens of children who were inpatient at the end of December. “The company jumped at the chance to help brighten these children’s days.”

Some patients, like Langston, were home when they received their videos. Langston’s parents chose Combo Panda from “Ryan’s World” to deliver his message, and the furry friend brought a thrill.

Other options on Cameo Kids include CoComelon and Blippi. Cameo donated codes to adolescents and teens, too, who could choose from other celebrities on the Cameo platform. Philanthropy from supporters like Toby and Cameo helps power the incredible work at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital—including Child Life Services, which helps children deal with the stress and uncertainty of a hospital stay.
