After Delivery

We offer you the following services when you give birth at NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital:

  • Individual inpatient teaching sessions with nurses
  • Inpatient classes on caring for your newborn
  • Breastfeeding guidance from a lactation specialist
  • A walk-in breastfeeding clinic after you go home
  • Assistance from a social worker after your baby is born, if needed
  • Classes in Spanish and English
  • Free educational TV programs
  • A professional photographer to take photos of your baby (services provided for a fee)

Our family-centered approach encourages an open visitation policy for your family members. Our postpartum floors feature private and semi-private rooms, many with views of the hospital's park-like campus. You will have use of a kitchen area with a microwave, refrigerator, and ice machine. Postpartum floors are equipped with a state-of-the-art wireless alarm system to ensure the security of your newborn.
