Labor & delivery
Compassionate care from highly skilled midwives
NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital offers extensive midwifery services, with a dedicated team of inpatient, full-scope midwives to support you throughout your birth experience. Many vaginal deliveries at our hospital are performed by our expert midwives, and birthing persons may request this service if they’re at low risk for complications. Our comprehensive midwife program is part of our collaboration with NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

Modern facilities for mothers & babies
The labor and delivery suite at NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital features:
- Eleven labor and delivery rooms
- Two surgical suites for cesarean deliveries
- Doula-led education programs and prenatal classes
Seven of our spacious labor and delivery rooms are used for childbirth and contain private baths, while the remaining four rooms are used for triage, antepartum care, and postoperative care. We offer several private postpartum rooms at no additional cost, available on a first-come, first-served basis. These comfortable spaces provide new families with the privacy they need to rest, recover, and bond with their newborn. Expectant mothers can learn more about our facilities by scheduling a maternity tour.
