NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center has received national recognition for excellence in nursing from the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program®, the highest and most prestigious distinction that a healthcare organization can earn for nursing excellence and innovation.

NewYork-Presbyterian recently celebrated the launch and expansion of the Pilar Crespi Robert and Stephen Robert Center for Community Health Navigation at three of its campuses: NewYork-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital, NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, and NewYork-Presbyterian Queens.

The Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), a joint program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), awarded NewYork-Presbyterian Queens with a national accreditation for its commitment to bariatric patient care.

Dr. Alfred C. Winkler has been named chief of urology at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Dr. Winkler, who is also an assistant professor of clinical urology at Weill Cornell Medicine, was most recently chief of urology at NewYork-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital.

A total of 267 physicians from NewYork-Presbyterian—more than any other hospital in the tri-state area— have been recognized as among the best doctors in the New York metropolitan region in this year’s edition of New York Magazine’s “Best Doctors” issue.

For the 13th year in a row, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital ranks in more pediatric specialties than any other New York hospital in U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Children’s Hospitals.” Additionally, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is New York’s No. 1 children’s hospital, according to the New York Daily News’ analysis of the U.S. News & World Report’s rankings. The 2019-20 rankings are published online today.

NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital has been verified as a Level I Children’s Surgery Center by the American College of Surgeons’ (ACS) Children’s Surgery Verification Committee.
