NewYork-Presbyterian’s Office of Communications was recognized by numerous communications and marketing organizations for its creative and dynamic campaigns and initiatives in 2018.

“We are honored to be recognized for this work,” said Kate Spaziani, vice president of the Office of Communications at NewYork-Presbyterian. “Our mission is to find innovative ways to share the remarkable stories that are happening every day at NewYork-Presbyterian, and this is a testament to the great work our team is doing.”

In 2018, NewYork-Presbyterian’s Health Matters, an online destination created to share stories of science, care and wellness, won “Best Healthcare/Medical Publication” by the Content Marketing Awards; “Best Website Launch” and “Best Video” by Ragan Communications’ Health Care PR and Marketing Awards; and “Best E-Newsletter” by PR News’ Digital Awards. In addition, Health Matters received an honorable mention by Ragan Communications for its “Amazing Stories” series and was a Content Marketing Award finalist for “Best Content Marketing Video Series” and “Best Feature Article – Digital.”

Thanks to the work of the social media team, NewYork-Presbyterian was ranked as the No. 1 hospital in Convince & Convert’s comprehensive report on the “The Best of Social Media from America’s Top Hospitals.” The Hospital was also ranked as the No. 6 hospital in ListenFirst’s State of Social Report.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, the Communications team spearheaded a #NYPResponds campaign to share in-the-moment updates from the Hospital’s disaster response teams as they traveled to Puerto Rico and provided much-needed medical care to residents. These updates were shared with Hospital staff, social media audiences and media outlets. Together, these efforts garnered an honorable mention at the PR News Social Media Awards for the “Best Use of Hashtags” and was awarded an honorable mention by PR Daily’s 2018 Corporate Social Responsibility Awards in the category “Disaster Relief.”

To help raise awareness around the importance of organ donation, NewYork-Presbyterian’s Marketing and Communications departments launched a 360 Transplant Campaign, which received an honorable mention by Ragan’s Health Care PR and Marketing Awards for the Grand Prize category.
