A New Cap on Charitable Deductions for 2026
The generosity of our donors makes it possible for NewYork-Presbyterian to show what healthcare should be. Your support ensures that our patients have access to world-class care, regardless of background or means.
We want to inform our donors that beginning January 1, 2026, the value of itemized charitable deductions will be capped at 35%. This means that if you are in the 37% tax bracket and will itemize your charitable deductions in 2026, you will be able to receive a maximum tax benefit of 35%: marking a 2% loss of your income tax charitable deduction. There are many ways to give back with regard for this new change in policy, including establishing a planned gift, creating a fundraiser, or simply making a gift online.
For more information on charitable gift planning, please contact Nick Pitaro in our Planned Giving department at 646.317.7323 or [email protected].
Note: As you consider any charitable gift plan, please consult with your tax or financial advisor to determine the tax/financial implications for you and your family. NewYork-Presbyterian does not provide legal or tax advice. This communication (including any attachments) is not intended or written to be used, and cannot be used, for the purpose of avoiding tax-related penalties.
