We have created this website to provide you with information to help you understand and navigate your stay with us. We want you to fully understand your treatment in the Emergency Department and plans for your discharge. We encourage you to read through the content and ask us any questions you have so you can actively participate in decisions about your care.
How do I know if I should go to the Emergency Room?
If you are concerned that you are having a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 or go to the closest emergency room.
If you are uncertain about going to an ER, please call your primary care doctor or consider having a virtual visit with one of our physicians by going to https://www.nyp.org/ondemand. If either of these types of visits are not possible, the Emergency Room is always open and available for you.
