We offer specialized, round-the-clock pediatric emergency and critical care services to meet the needs of children and infants in Brooklyn.

Our pediatric emergency department is staffed by dual board-certified emergency and pediatric doctors and nurses, including pediatric attending physicians who are available 24/7. This self-contained area within the NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital emergency department is designed specifically for the comfort of pediatric patients and their families.

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is a multidisciplinary facility providing exceptional care for infants, children, and adolescents with life-threatening medical and surgical conditions. Our unit is currently the only PICU in Brooklyn offering 24/7 pediatric critical care services with continuous in-person attending physician coverage. This ensures that critically ill infants and children receive immediate, expert attention at any hour.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

We care for the most vulnerable newborns in our 24-bed Level III NICU. We are equipped to care for newborns who need intensive medical attention, including those born extremely prematurely and those requiring and recovering from surgery, and provide care to babies who need more support before going home in our Transitional Care Nursery.
