Virtual Advisory Community

At NewYork-Presbyterian, we believe the future of health care should be shaped by the people and communities we serve. To help bring this vision to life, we are launching the Virtual Advisory Community—a group of patients and caregivers who generously share their unique perspectives on the opportunities and challenges that exist within health care. These insights will help us improve how patient-centered care is delivered every day.

Who can join the Virtual Advisory Community?

This is open to individuals (ages 18+) who have voluntarily agreed to be contacted periodically throughout the year to provide confidential feedback on a range of topics impacting our health care community. Inputs will be collected either through online surveys, virtual focus groups, or virtual one-on-one interviews. Our community members can decline to participate in a specific feedback session should they wish to, and they can opt out of the program at any time.

What is expected of a community member?

We value the honest feedback members are able to provide and are committed to building a relationship of trust. Your voice will help guide how we design, communicate, and deliver care—now and into the future.

If you choose to enroll, your email will be added to our secure list of community members. Throughout the year, we will reach out with invitations to participate in specific feedback activities. Some activities may have eligibility criteria based on past experiences, health services used, or demographic profiles.

Please keep in mind:

  • Most online surveys should take 5–10 minutes to complete and are done via a secure link emailed to members. Virtual focus groups and one-on-one interviews may take 30-60 minutes to complete
  • Community members should expect to be contacted 6 times per year, although this may vary
  • Community members can decline to participate in any feedback session and can opt out of the program at any time
What happens to the information I provide?

All information collected via online surveys, virtual focus groups, or virtual interviews will be kept confidential, stored securely, and will only be used for internal research purposes to help inform opportunities to improve the care provided.

Will I receive compensation for participating?

This program is volunteer based. There is no compensation for the time given to completing surveys, focus groups, or interviews.

What do I need to have in order to participate?
  • An email address where you can be contacted regarding upcoming feedback activities
  • Access to a smartphone or computer with high-speed internet connection/Wi-Fi
Where can I enroll?

At this time, enrollment information will be sent out to patients via HCAHPS surveys. Additional information, including enrollment submission forms, will be added to this site at a later date. We thank you for your consideration in joining this program.

Thank you for your help in creating a healthier future for all.
