Acupuncture decreased joint symptoms in women with early-stage breast cancer treated with aromatase inhibitors, according to a randomized, multicenter clinical trial led by researchers at NewYork-Presbyterian and Columbia University Irving Medical Center. The findings were presented at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium, held Dec. 5 – 9.

February marks Heart Health Month, a time to raise awareness about ways to prevent heart disease and improve cardiovascular functions. NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital leadership, physicians and staff, joined by Brooklyn community leaders, today held a beam-signing ceremony to mark the installation of the final structural beam in the new Center for Community Health. Opening in 2020, the six-story, 400,000-square-foot facility will be the largest ambulatory care center in Brooklyn, providing world-class patient care and helping to meet the growing demand for the treatment of cancer, diabetes and hypertension, in addition to a range of other innovative outpatient services.
