America's oldest and most prestigious organization dedicated to purebred dogs is creating a pet therapy program for New York's leading children's hospital with the goal of enhancing the healing process for its pediatric patients.

A new resource center specifically designed for psychiatric patients and their families has opened at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Named after a beloved Weill Cornell Medical College graduate, the Bruce Hedges, M.D. Patient Resource Center provides comprehensive and up-to-date information about a wide range of psychiatric conditions. Designed to be comfortable and empowering, the new center was built in the spirit of the Hospital's new partnership with the Planetree Alliance, a national organization dedicated to facilitating patient-centric care.

New York City's older adults, physicians, and caregivers now have a unique, new Web site, CornellCARES.com, where comprehensive mental health and psychosocial information and resources are easily accessed. CornellCARES.com, developed and hosted by NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, includes a listing of New York City Medicare mental-health providers, and is the first resource of its kind.

Weill Cornell Medical College and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City and The Methodist Hospital in Houston jointly announced today that they have entered into an historic medical affiliation that will benefit residents of New York and Texas. Under the terms of the 30-year agreement, The Methodist Hospital's primary affiliation will be with Weill Cornell Medical College and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Physicians at The Methodist Hospital can choose to have faculty appointments at Weill Cornell Medical College.

A new screening technology that could detect lung cancer much earlier than ever before was funded today through matching grants of $1.8 million respectively from the American Legacy Foundation and the UK's Medicsight Foundation.
