Frequently Asked Questions
Construction will take place during regular business hours 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Clinical operations at the hospital will continue uninterrupted, and we are taking every measure to minimize disruption to our patients and their loved ones. Safety and exceptional care remain our top priorities.
We will continue to provide patients with privacy during this vulnerable time. Patients in active labor will receive care in private delivery rooms.
Privacy is of the upmost importance. The work is conducted behind secure barriers; you will not see construction equipment or materials in patient care areas and our workers will not be able to observe any patients or their guests.
Our new Maternity Center will feature:
- 34 private postpartum rooms with en suite bathrooms and showers
- Fully renovated labor & delivery suites
- The latest technology and resources to support birthing persons and babies
- A new family lounge area for visitors.
We encourage you to attend the NewYork-Presbyterian Lower Brooklyn Methodist Hospital Maternity Care Orientation by one of our expert senior labor and delivery nurses. You can schedule this by contacting Vanessa Petgrave.
We expect to have our state-of-the-art labor and delivery unit completed by the end of 2025. Postpartum rooms are expected to be ready by first half of 2027.
We’re here to answer any questions and ensure your experience is as smooth and comfortable as possible. Please speak directly with your OB/GYN if you have any questions. While in the hospital, you can reach to Vanessa Petgrave at [email protected].
