NewYork-Presbyterian Achieves National Acclaim for Commitment to Health Justice

NewYork-Presbyterian Dalio Center of Health Justice's work in continuing to ensure all our patients have access to effective and equitable care is possible through the support of philanthropy. Its launch in 2020 is the result of a $50 million grant from Dalio Philanthropies, whose founder Ray Dalio is a NewYork-Presbyterian Trustee and an important thought partner behind the center.

The Dalio Center aims to understand and address the root causes of health inequities with the goal of setting a new standard of health for the communities we serve.

Through the Center's efforts, The Joint Commission awarded NewYork-Presbyterian a Health Care Equity Certification.

One of the first hospitals to receive this esteemed recognition, NewYork-Presbyterian had to provide The Joint Commission with multiple statistics and several extensive reports on our efforts to address health disparities. The rigorous review by The Joint Commission looked at over 40 program-specific standards, with the certification process being led by the Dalio Center for Health Justice at NewYork-Presbyterian.

This Joint Commission recognition is a testament to NewYork-Presbyterian’s commitment to addressing the root causes of health inequities and our work to prevent them…We look forward to continuing to lead the way in making health care more just for all.”
