Inpatient Psychiatry Admissions
For those suffering from serious psychiatric illnesses, and especially those at risk of harming themselves or others, NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital has an inpatient unit where symptoms of mental illness can be most effectively managed.
What to bring to the hospital
Please have the following important information with you when you arrive at the hospital:
- List of all prescription and over-the-counter medications the patient is currently taking
- Medical insurance information, including insurance cards
- Photo ID, such as a driver’s license or passport
- Telephone numbers of important contacts, such as support person, physicians, social workers, etc.
- Copies of advanced directives, such as a healthcare proxy or living will
