“As a volunteer, I have an opportunity to improve the quality of care for the patients during their stay at NYP Allen. It may be as simple as setting up their breakfast tray. Or I may be there to listen and support the patient in the absence of family. Even with language and physical barriers, holding a patient's hand or a warm smile can make a world of difference. This is what volunteering at NYP Allen means to me."
