Why Volunteer

NewYork-Presbyterian, in collaboration with two renowned medical schools, Weill Cornell Medicine and Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, is dedicated to providing the highest quality, most compassionate care and service to patients in the New York metropolitan area, nationally, and around the world.

Volunteers are critical to our work, helping us improve the lives of patients and their loved ones on a daily basis. NewYork-Presbyterian offers a wide range of volunteer opportunities across our campuses.

“As a volunteer, I have an opportunity to improve the quality of care for the patients during their stay at NYP Allen. It may be as simple as setting up their breakfast tray. Or I may be there to listen and support the patient in the absence of family. Even with language and physical barriers, holding a patient's hand or a warm smile can make a world of difference. This is what volunteering at NYP Allen means to me."

Recognition

Each year, Volunteer Services looks forward to recognizing and thanking our dedicated volunteers. Whether it is honoring a volunteer’s exemplary performance, saying happy birthday, or participating in National Volunteer Week — NYP knows how valuable our volunteers are!
