Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital

Trauma Education and Injury Prevention

The Hospital's Pediatric Trauma Program offers professional educational conferences and courses to update paramedics, emergency medical technicians, nurses and other health care professionals on trauma care. In addition, the Pediatric Trauma Program sponsors numerous injury prevention activities in cooperation with local schools and community groups. Events focus on proper installation of car seats, safeguarding the home, as well as bicycle and traffic safety. The Hospital has been invited to become a member of the Injury-Free Coalition for Kids, a national effort that provides grants to institutions to develop programs targeted at preventing injuries prevalent in their local communities. A current program initiative is the construction of a Universal Safety City, a replica of city streets where kids can learn to negotiate the city safely and soundly.
