Frequently asked questions

What makes the Center for Community Health different from a regular hospital?

The Center for Community Health offers a new vision of outpatient care for children and adults by providing multispecialty services all in one location. All services at the Center for Community Health, including surgery, are same-day outpatient care.

Why should I consider outpatient surgery?

Outpatient surgery allows for reduced costs and travel time, as well as ease in scheduling compared to inpatient surgery. We offer same-day outpatient surgery at the Center for Community Health by using minimally invasive techniques to make the smallest incision possible. Allowing patients to heal quickly and recover in the comfort of their own home. Our surgical team carefully reviews each case and discusses expectations with families to ensure that patients are selected appropriately for outpatient surgery and don’t require extended recovery or inpatient surgery. Additionally, patients undergo a pre-anesthesia evaluation to identify any risk factors before outpatient surgery and perform additional testing as necessary.

How long after surgery do patients go home?

Patients at the Center for Community Health are assigned a “nurse-of-the-day,” who will care for them both before and after their surgery, monitoring their progress for when it is appropriate to go home.

Are Center for Community Health specialists available for telemedicine consultations?

Yes, the Center for Community Health offers the latest digital health options, allowing patients to access care from the comfort of their own homes.
