Cancer surgery backed by research & experience

When it comes to managing a cancer diagnosis, having access to exceptional care near you makes all the difference. For over five decades, the cancer program at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens has provided high quality care to culturally diverse patient populations. We have some of the highest rates of the use of breast-conserving surgery and utilize robotic surgery for as a state-of-the-art treatment for urological cancers. For patients undergoing complex surgical procedures, our state-of-the-art Surgical Intensive Care Unit is manned by critical care specialists and the residency staff who are equipped to care for even the most complicated cases.

Our expertise is backed by decades of cancer studies and our Tumor Registry, which is used to develop protocols for the study of different cancers and their treatments. Patients who come to us for care also benefit from the research of other specialties across the hospital. This includes studies on colon cancer, prostate cancer treatment with brachytherapy, endometrial cancer, GI lymphomas, and comparison of surgery vs. radiation and chemotherapy for pancreatic cancer.
