Joint Replacement Program

At NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital’s Joint Replacement Surgery Program, we offer expert and compassionate care for the replacement of hip, knee, and shoulder joints. Here, surgical expertise is blended with comprehensive support that includes education, pre-surgery preparation and post-surgical rehabilitation and wellness services to ensure your rapid and successful return to good health.

We offer joint replacement and reconstruction for patients seeking relief of pain and restoration of motion in joints that have been damaged by arthritis or other causes, utilizing the latest advances in joint replacement technology, surgical approaches and pain management that make your recovery easier than ever.

These procedures include:

  • Total knee replacement
  • Partial knee replacement
  • Total hip replacement
  • Hip resurfacing
  • Shoulder replacement
  • Complex revisions

Our dedicated multidisciplinary team of orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, Magnet® nurses, technicians, occupational therapists and case managers collaborate to develop an individualized plan of care that maximizes your comfort, safety and the best possible outcome.

Once your surgery is scheduled, a pre-operative screening nurse and case manager will contact you for a consultation and pre-operative assessment. Often, a physical therapist’s evaluation will be scheduled for added evaluation. These meetings not only provide us with important information about your medical condition, lifestyle, goals and expectations, they also provide you with information that will help you determine the best approach to your treatment and recovery that best fits your needs.

After surgery, you will recover in a private patient room located on a specialized orthopedic floor of the hospital, where our highly trained orthopedic nurses focus on your care and pain management from post-surgery through the first stages of physical therapy. Physical therapy is provided by our physical therapists who will design a personalized program to help you regain skills and get you back to everyday life.
