Bringing together expert clinicians, community members, and thought leaders in a number of fields, the annual Center for Youth Mental Health Gala was hosted on June 1 in support of The Center for Youth Mental Health (CYMH) at NewYork-Presbyterian. CYMH is dedicated to addressing the epidemic of anxiety and depression among young people, with the gala highlighting insightful discussions about the Center and the challenges it faces.
The event honored 12 years of the Center's impactful work while also addressing the unprecedented increase in the need for mental health resources. Hosted by Co-Chair of the NewYork-Presbyterian Board of Trustees Chip Kaye, Tory Burch, Dr. Zandy Forbes, and Anna Wintour, the 2025 Center for Youth Mental Health Gala provided attendees with informative conversations on mental health at the Crosby Street Hotel. The night also featured an in-depth discussion between U.S. Senator Chris Murphy; NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center psychiatrist Dr. Charlie Shaffer; and Dr. Joshua Gordon, Psychiatrist-in-Chief at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, who shared perspectives on the need for systemic mental health support throughout the nation and CYMH's role in that effort.
Supported by philanthropy, the Center joins doctors from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and Weill Cornell Medicine to specialize in research and treatment programs focused on young people and their needs.
