After Cherie Aimee had a heart attack, the team at NewYork-Presbyterian installed a heart pump, which Cherie lived with for almost 5 years until she could receive a new heart. Doctors then performed the transplant surgery. Cherie is now living life from a whole new perspective.
Reverend R.E. Paris
Reverend R.E. Paris’ heart was suddenly failing. Dr. Parikh and Dr. Axsom at NewYork-Presbyterian quickly provided Rev. Paris with equipment that detects any heart rhythm irregularities. The team improved his heart function remotely, so he can continue doing what he loves.
Robert Lynn
Robert Lynn had a large aneurysm in the artery to his kidney. He was referred to the team at NewYork-Presbyterian. They collaborated to perform an innovative surgery to extract Robert’s kidney, repair the aneurysm and place the kidney back.
Sarah Taffet
Sarah Taffet went into cardiac arrest during a softball game. Dr. Tolani at NewYork-Presbyterian discovered a rare heart defect with a 10% survival rate. Dr. Bacha performed open-heart surgery to repair Sarah’s left artery. Three months later, Sarah was cleared to play softball.
