The pulmonary medicine specialists of NewYork-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital treat adult patients with a wide range of illnesses affecting the lung, from conditions that may require an office consultation to patients with critical illnesses that require treatment in the Hospital's intensive care unit. These conditions include:
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD)

- Pleural effusions (fluid in the lungs)
